I found the Poop fountain via Yelp, and just had to visit it at some point. Funny how something like this can get so much recognition, but maybe it is a good thing to have things like this to add extra amusement to our daily lives. The Poop fountain attracts many Chicago locals, and tourists in our city. The fountain was created and installed in 2005 by Polish Chicago artist Jerzy S. Kenar. And meant for all the community to remember to pick up after their dogs (Rice, 2016) .
As one that loves to run the trails it is bothersome seeing that someone did not pick up after their dog while out walking the neighborhood or trails. While some may think that it is good fertilizer for the lawn; it is actually toxic to the lawn. And besides! Nobody wants to surprisingly step in something that a pet owner failed or were to lazy to clean up. Because dog feces are one of the most common carriers of diseases such as Whipworms, Hookworms, Roundworms, Tapeworms, Parvo, Corona, Giardiasis, Salmonellosis, Cryptosporidiosis, and Campyobacteriosis(“Toxic Dog Waste,” 2014).

Of course dog owners should pick up after their pets but I cannot believe my eyes how the designer reminds them them of doing it. If I were a designer I would rather put … on their heads! It seems to me that artists and designers are allowed everything!!!
I never thought anything like this was possible until I seen it. Perfect spot for something like this would be like a park where a majority of dog walkers go.
Dog owners hint and re-education hahahaha!
Lol, we do have little signs to throw out the hint. For the most part most owners do pick up from what I see during the day.
Very interesting! At first I thought art has gone too far, but after reading the idea behind it makes a lot of sense!
And that is the same thing that I thought when I discovered this; then later finding out the meaning behind it.
Chicago has a statue by picasso, so they’re probably just following the logical conclusion
They very well could be
this is a natural progression for me, anyway
