We needed to change the old tiles in our bathroom so we hired a handyman. The suggestion is to use tile adhesive instead of cement. What’s good in using tile adhesive is that there is no need to remove the old tiles. Just apply the adhesive on the old tiles and lay the new tiles over the old. That simple. Of course, there are needed adjustments for the level but that’s not very hard. In fact, I could do it myself next time. The cost is just slightly higher than the cost for cement and sand. But the saved labor is so much in terms of time.
But the old tiles must be thoroughly dry, scrubbed off scum, dirt and molds, right?
We changed the flooring of our entire house without removing old tiles but I did not observe how it was done.
Hearing for the first time, I think it is not yet started in India.
