Wine Making Tools at the Glenn Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport, N.Y. in the Fingerlakes. This display caught my eye because of the lovely Lignum Vitae corking or bung mallet in the center with its impossibly thin and purposely whippy handle. Bottom left is the common bung hole borer for barrels. Top left is curved printing block for wine labels. Bottom left is a grape vine pruning shear. Central top is Redlich’s corking apparatus for putting corks into wine bottles.
I wonder if they still use similar tools today? Very cool, thank you
I would put those tools in a glass box if I had them. Interesting tools Jess!
