Introducing ‘Roti Tisu’ literally meaning tissue bread. The dough is like the ‘roti canai’ (‘prata’ as some might know it) except it is stretched out and not folded over and over like the ‘prata’. Then, while still on the flat pan, coarse sugar is sprinkled over melting ghee or margarine on one side of the thin ‘roti’, and then quickly formed into this pyramid shape and served immediately! It is a great crispy snack to be shared with friends, and eating with your fingers is a MUST – mmmmm…. yummmmy!

Just looking at it makes me hungry…
Hahaha… Makes me hungry too! 🙂
This is a typical Malay bread. As in Sumatra; Medan and Aceh.
Yes! A favourite with my niece to be eaten together with family… 🙂
Very rare in Jakarta, except in Malay restaurants or there is a special event with Malay dishes. Since my wife is from Medan, she and her family often make me the food. Yummy..
Wow, that looks delicious!
Haha… you must have it hot and crispy! 😉
