Are there any dishes that your mom used to make when you were growing up that you thought were incredibly delicious? Real comfort food. Dishes that are even more comforting when you think back fondly on that dish or those dishes and realize that you never learned the recipe or how to prepare it for your own family!
My mom used to cook oxtail stew.
My mother is passed away now. I never got her recipe. Of course, you can Google oxtail stew and find a bazillion recipes. But I’ll bet none of them will taste like the stew my mom used to make. Nevertheless, if you’ve never eaten a hearty bowl of oxtail stew and would like try, here are a few recipes.

Oxtail is something I have never tried. In my region it is not a common item. But still you have given so many varied recipes for those who can make use of it.You are right about Mother’s dishes. My mother is no more but,the taste of all those dishes still lingers in my memory.
Oxtail! I never try it before. I tried pig tail soup when I was a kid, but my kids don’t like it…
I come from a very humble peasant family, and my mother cooked very simple foods, but even so I learned to cook simple and tasty dishes with few ingredients, I also learned how to make a type of wheat flour bread called ‘domplina’ with which I have been able to please the palate of my family and also of my friends.
What a lovely post and so many ways to prepare this dish! When I was little, I was a very picky eater.
Such a great variety of flavors!!! Thank you very much for this publication!!!
thanks for the excellent recipes
