Where are the Original Willy Wonka Kids now?

Thursday, April 15, 2020

I used to watch this movie, as well  as this version, when I was a kid. This version is better than the newer version with Johnny Depp, which is too dark and creepy, probably created to give kids nightmares. I think the newer version was probably created by Tim Burton because it looks like his style.

Charlie Bucket, played by Peter Ostrum, sweet poor boy with blond hair.

Veruca Salt, played by Julie Dawn Cole, spoiled rich girl

Augustus Gloop, played by Michael Boellner, chubby German kid, who didn’t speak much English when filming the movie.

Violet Beauregarde, played by Denise Nickerson, the annoying gum chewer with a big mouth.

Mike Teavee, played by Paris Themmen, the TV addict

The five kids of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, grown up. Where are they now?

Some of the Oompa-Loompas were Malcolm Dixon, Rusty Goffe, and Albert Wilkinson, who played Willy Wonka’s orange-faced, green haired, dwarf slaves.

Jack Albertson was Charlie’s grandfather, who later was in Chico and the Man with the late Freddie Prinze Sr.

Willy Wonka was played by Gene Wilder.

(I think Gene and Jack are now dead)

Michael Boellner later went to a university to become a Tax Accountant.

Denise Nickerson later lived in Colorado with her son Josh, as a single mom.

Julie Dawn Cole later starred in Poldark. She is now divorced with two kids, and married to her second husband.

Paris Themmen is now a businessman in Hollywood. He worked in Travel Agency, Real Estate, Film Production, Casting, and Financial Consultant.

Peter Ostrum is now a Veterinarian for large animals, such as cows and horses. He is married with two kids.
