Four years ago, pianist David Benoit and guitarist Marc Antoine made one of the best musical collaborations in 2017 with their album “So Nice!” What made this album so nice is their wonderful blend of styles.
Benoit has been a mainstay in jazz music for forty years. He is considered to be one of the musicians to usher in the smooth jazz era because he was one of the first musicians to combine classical and contemporary jazz.
Antoine is from France, but his style of play is definitely influenced from Spain and from Brazil with the bossa nova style of Jobim. The mix of the past and the present makes this song “Caminando” an absolute treasure.
