My review of the movie “The Big Sick.”

The movie, currently in theaters, The Big Sick. What follows is my review. In the best sense of fairness to my readers, I have to acknowledge that I love RomComs. I also really enjoy finding out more about the reasons people are together.

The Big Sick hits those two areas extremely well.

The story is of the meeting and relationship of two people. In between their meeting families, and illness intercedes creating both a tension and ultimately an extremely happy ending.

1. The movie is extremely well written.
2. The cast of the movie was amazing.

The movie is based on a true story, with some things modified for effect. It has some comedic moments that were laughed out loud funny. It was wonderful to see one of my all time favorite actors (Ray Romano) and one of my all time favorite actresses (Holly Hunter) in the movie. Holly Hunter, as is her style, stole every scene she was in. Ray Romano was also awesome. The two leads Kumail Nanjiani, he wrote the screenplay as it is about his real life and Zoe Kazan were amazing.

It is a warm, wonderful movie with just enough reality to bring it home.

I give the Big Sick, a 5 out of 5.
