Factory Girl movie review

Factory Girl is a 2007 movie about Edie Sedgwick, an actress and artist from the 60s. I first watched this film when it came out in theater, even though I have never heard of her, probably because the story takes place in 1965, a year after I was born. It is a sad movie about a messed up young woman, who moves to NYC and becomes famous after she meets Andy Warhol. He uses her for his art and further messes her up, which leads her to go deeper into drugs. She ends up in a mental institution, where she eventually meets her future husband—another patient. After they marry, she ends up overdosing on drugs, a year later, and she dies in November 1971 at 28.  She was very rich because she had a trust fund from her father, but she must have wasted it because she was always asking for money from others.

The movie stars Sienna Miller as Edie Sedgwick, as well as Jimmy Fallon, Guy Pearce, Hayden Christensen, Mena Suvari, and Peter Bogdanovich. This movie was directed by George Hickenlooper and written by Captain Mauzner.
