How Would You Have it Then?- 1

“Why are you crying?”

I am sitting on the floor, watching my husband, Cory, with our daughter, Alaja.

She is showing him her toys, giving them names, and he is making up his own names.  Alaja is laughing as a three year old does, just bubbling and uncontrolled.

Cory is focused on her, as he sits there in shorts and a vest top, but, being Cory, can feel my soul.

He looks at me, and softly asks, “Why are you crying?”

I can’t tell him.   I can say the sentence, but not the ‘backstory’.

I say;  “Cause I’m so happy, and love you so much….”

That is what I say.

It is true.  What I don’t say, is that this is first time.   This is the first time. This is the first time I realise that I do love him.
