Song Saturday Challenge: "When You Believe" cover by One Voice Children's Choir

Today was one of those days when a song came to mind and would simply not leave. I was humming it through the day’s chores and it is likely that it would have continued to stay in my mind, had I not sat down and listened to it. It was this song: When You believe. This is from the animated movie “Prince of Egypt” and it is a song of celebration for the Hebrews upon deliverance out of Egypt. I chose this rendition because of the purity of the voices of this children’s choir and the backgrounds that are used. I may share another rendition later, but the setting here is quite appropriate to the song. The children did an excellent job with the Hebrew lyrics, I think.

Here are the words to the song:

Many night’s we’ve prayed

With no proof anyone could hear

In our hearts a hopeful song

We barely understood,

Now we are not afraid

Although we know there’s much to fear

We were moving mountains

long before we knew we could

Miriam (chorus)

There can be miracles

When you believe

Though hope is frail

It’s hard to kill

Who knows what miracles

You can achieve

When you believe

Somehow you will

You will when you believe

Tzipporah

In this time of fear

When prayer so often proved in vain

Hope seemed like the summer birds

Too swiftly flown away

Yet now I’m standing here

With heart so full I can’t explain

Seeking faith and speaking words

I never thought I’d say

Miriam and Tzipporah (chorus)

There can be miracles

When you believe

All hope is frail

Its hard to kill

Who knows what miracles

You can achieve

When you believe

Somehow you will

You will when you believe
