Barry's Diaries – 51

What was so great about going to the Basketball game was that when one of The Crowd asked Barry why he’d left the Diner so fast he could mention the game.

No! He’d keep his ticket stub.

Yeah.

When one of his classmates growled,  “Why’d you leave?”  Barry would hand him the stub. That would not just shut him up, that would not just give Barry a free pass, but elevate him.

(I didn’t run because your behaviour freaked me out, I ran to get to the basketball game)

Sitting in the arena,  Barry absorbed every second of the match, memorised every play.

When it was over, Barry and his folks ate the usual junk and when they got home they were all exhausted and went to bed.
