One of the greatest dangers of demotivation is not just unworking, but sitting back and watching the business collapse.
Imagine an employee, learning that products supplied are defective or a sub-contractor is robbing the company, and says nothing.
This happens when the employee doesn’t care any more.
It is not that the employee is ignorant of what is happening, or profits from it, the fact is that the employee has been so demotivated s/he not merely doesn’t care, but actually enjoys the knowledge that the company is losing.
This ‘enjoyment’ only comes when an employee has been insulted, unappreciated, and all the interest and integrity owned when entering the building has not merely been destroyed, it has been turned 180o.
This is real.
It isn’t a shoulder shrug, it is a deep an abiding anger, which has been created by the employers.
Everytime I see this it makes me smile.
the problem with demotivation is that it is hard to aler.
