3 Benefits of Rest for Health

We all know how good it feels to rest in conditions, but getting enough sleep is not just something positive that makes us feel relaxed. It also brings many health benefits, both physical and mental.

1. Strengthens the immune system:

Do you think that the body really rests while you sleep? Maybe you can rest, but of course your body is with the engines running, because it takes advantage of that moment to release substances that strengthen the immune system. There is a good reason why people often say that sleep is vital for health!

Science has shown that people who have problems with rest or do not get enough sleep are at a higher risk. When we sleep, our body secretes a higher amount of somatropin, better known as growth hormone. It stimulates the growth of skin cells and tissue, repairs small muscle wounds (because of running, for example), helps heal injuries and strengthens bones.

2. Improve the ability to concentrate:

Good rest gives us a sense of balance and happiness, while lack of sleep irritates and distracts us. In fact, a Safety Council states that fatigue along with alcohol is the main cause of traffic accidents. It is estimated that traffic accidents that occur are related to lack of sleep.

3. Stimulates cognitive ability:

Whether you realize it or not, you generally dream a lot while you sleep, which makes sense if you take into account that this is how you process what happened to you throughout the day. In this way, the brain prepares to assimilate even more things the next day. If you sleep enough, you will notice positive effects in the memory.

During the day, the brain temporarily stores what you are learning and at night it sets all that information in your long-term memory. If, for example, before you go to sleep you practice and learn vocabulary from a foreign language, you will retain it much better.
