WIP for Leopard Queen

If you’ve been following my progress, you’ll know that I am in the process of developing a more painterly look to my work and that I’ve been doing master studies for inspiration. This piece is inspired by the work of Frank Frazetta and Sam Keith

#1 work in progress

This treatment is closer to Frazetta's, but I'd still like to loosen it up a bit...

#2 rough sketch

This is a much more dynamic pose than I used in the WIP, and I might not be using either pose in the final. I have a lot of options that I'd like to explore before I call it a day

She’s wonderful, I love how you draw influence from different places but it is still very much your own.

I think the sketch looks a little more like Frazetta. I’m planning to do a whole series of these to really understand Iray lighting. My next installment should have a few improvements

  I use photoshop but you could use GIMP or whatever. The important thing is to have a Wacom tablet…

  Frazetta was a master of light and shadow- he could make a still life look sexy. I’m trying to learn a few of his moves and try them on for size, but ultimately I will need to look sexy on my own…
