Do you hear the din?
The lights flashing as the crowd
mills
moving back and forth as if
an uneven ocean
a surface
of many colors
and the din.
The din spreads like
an explosion of starlings
started by
a lion
suddenly beneath their tree. are you the lion?
or the Starling.
Fliting and flying as if one, but thousands.
Flee, Flee
Unclear we
place hands
to our ears
can we hear specifics
in the din?
Or is it just
a din
with no
significant value.
Do you hear the din?
In a club or in nature? I liked it. I pinned it.
It was actually written about a history 101 class in college. 🙂 So neither actually!
A man of many talents Doc. Nice flow to your words. It drew me in to a different environment for a moment.
Thanks, Carol. It was written when I was 19. It was actually published in the Indiana Review, when they had a poetry section.
Are you serious? Impressive. You should share more.
I do when I can. It takes time to retype them. Plus I have to argue with myself, do I update or do I leave as written.
Always leave them as written. Just sayin’.
