Fruits contain many important nutrients such as vitamin C, fiber and antioxidants. There are certain fruits which are low in sugar, and perfectly suited to people with diabetes. Grapefruit has very low sugar content and is sour. Eating a grapefruit can meet the required amount of vitamin C in a day for the body.
They are not only safe for diabetics but also help reduce bad cholesterol in blood. However, if you are sick and taking any medication, talk to your doctor before eating grapefruit. An average grapefruit usually contains 18 grams of sugar, 20 grams of carbohydrates, and 2 grams of fiber and 1.6 grams of protein.
