The funny thing about the National Football League offseason is that this story will definitely boost the morale of league officials that have to deal with the negative publicity dealing with the bad behavior of their players who get in trouble with the law due to their off the field indiscretions.
On Easter, Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard was driving in his auto in his hometown when he saw a lady who had a flat tire on the side of the road.
Leonard had no idea that the lady who suffered a flat tire when she was on her way to attend church was his former high school biology teacher Martha Isbell.
Isbell was thankful that one of her former students in high school was in the area to change her flat tire. Darius managed to change the flat tire with ease so his former teacher would be able to go to church on that fateful Easter day.
Isbell mentioned that Leonard has such a heart of compassion for other people that even it she was not the person who needed assistance to change a flat tire, Leonard would have done the same favor to a complete stranger.
Sure Leonard’s great deed will not be splashed on the national sports scenes as the lead story. However it is nice to see a football star assisting someone in need. It is a breath of fresh air that all of us need to see in our world today.
I know what you mean since life does imitate art sometimes.
that must’ve been a surprise for both parties!
I am sure both parties were caught off guard when they met.
still, it could’ve been really cool all around
It is a great story from both the teacher and the football player meeting each other once again.
how trippy it must’ve been for both of them
Very good story and excellent thing to say about a footballer
A lot of National Football League players are really nice guys.
What a great and selfless thing for him to do.
It is nice to see a football player come back home and assist someone in need.
You have a good point Doc since my late mom always said it is how a child is raised that determines if they are good or bad persons as adults.
kindness comes from the person’s heart. 🙂
My late mom always told me that it depends who a child is raised from birth to adulthood.
