View of The Auckland Harbour Bridge from Pt Chevalier

While at Pt Chevalier as a 10 year old, my school teacher told us of a Maori legend. the Maori faeries decided to build a bridge to the North Shore. 

So they worked all night to complete the bridge, but they got too involved and forgot to stop before morning.

Hence, the Maori faeries turned to stone, but they gave man an idea…

  1. Gorgeous view even though slightly foggy. Reminds me of Newfoundland where fog is almost always there. I am amazed at how many languages are found anywhere as the name ” Chevalier ” is French. Also a very beautiful fairy story…
