March is Irish-American Heritage Month in the USA.
For most of my life, the only things I knew about Ireland and the Irish heritage was that it was a land of enchantment loaded with shamrocks and leprechauns. I knew that Ireland is called the “Emerald Isle” which meant, in my mind, that it had to beautiful and mystical place. Nevertheless, some of them left and came to America to start a new life. Like the Kennedy family. John F. Kennedy, one of our most revered and beloved American presidents, was a Catholic Irish-American and the fact that he managed to get elected to the highest office in the country was HUGE! As you can see, I don’t know much. So I did some research about the people of Ireland and the Irish influence in America to learn more and turned up some interesting findings. Happy to share the results with you.
Let’s Celebrate Ireland and Things Irish!
♦ The Irish emigrated or left their homeland and settled in various parts of the world such as the United States of America, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Australia. It’s interesting to follow their trails and find out how they got there and what they brought with them.

Celebrating Irish-American Heritage. To celebrate a heritage one should know what the heritage is. All #Irish have the red-hair gene and Celtic blood. Right? (O.o) ~ "Blood of the Irish: What #DNA Tells Us About the #Ancestry of People in Ireland” https://t.co/q71mPPJqbO pic.twitter.com/CiLGq6Kdfp
