Yes, ti’s been awhile since I did a cheater. I made this one the other day it was fun and easy, so I thought I would share. It is not truly baking and it tastes good and we can make it, we call it Cherry Pie Sweet rolls.
Spray a baking dish so things don’t stick. I use a regular cake pan. We begin with two cans of Pillsbury Orange Cinnamon rolls, yes the kind where you crack the packaging open. Unroll the nicely rolled rolls!
Mix 1/2 of the orange frosting with 1 can of cherry pie filling. (I use Duncan Hines). Spread the filling you just made on the rolls and roll them back up. Place them in the baking pan. Bake them about 3 minutes longer than the original directions calls for.
Frost them with 2 oz cream cheese, 1/4 cup confectioners sugar, the rest of the orange frosting and 1 TBS of milk.
Easy, tasty and almost homemade.
Sounds great, and I want to try this one.
This sounds amazing, a great “cheat” recipe. I must try some time.I love cracking open the tube of those pastry products, don’t you? I am thinking specifically of the Jus’ Rol ones- I love those, and have tried most of their range.
Adding this to the things to make when I have time list (sadly it is number 54, the list grows and I run out of time, often).
Me too DocAndersen! I have saved so many recipes over the years, and have only ever cooked a fraction of those.
Sadly it is the reality of time lost.
