A cup of cocoa or hot chocolate is an amazing comfort drink. But I only like to drink it when it’s cold or there’s a chill in the air. The weather has to put me in the mood. Also, I don’t usually drink it the morning or during the day. Unlike coffee which I am happy to drink all day and all night, hot chocolate is an evening or night-time drink. I enjoy it when the day is winding down and I’m in rest and relax mode.
Are you that way? Do you only drink hot chocolate if it’s cold outside? Or are you happy to drink it winter, spring, summer or fall?
Also, do you add marshmallows or whipped cream or a peppermint stick or something like that? Or are you satisfied to just savor that nice cup of chocolate deliciousness? I love marshmallows!
Have you ever tried white hot chocolate? I have not. But it sounds scrumptious!

I like chocolate very much, so I also like hot chocolate … I drink hot chocolate mostly in winter
This reminds me that I haven’t had hot chocolate for a while. I like adding some red pepper, it makes it even more amazing. 🙂
I’ve added cinnamon. Red pepper? Never tried that. I may try because now I’m curious.
Weirdly, I don’t like mixing cinnamon and chocolate much.
Hot chocolate is hard to beat when it is cold.
Isn’t it? Are you like me? Hot chocolate is associated with many happy childhood memories.
I wouldn’t say that it is my favorite, but I do enjoy hot chocolate in the afternoon after I’ve come in from shoveling snow. I sometimes give a Christmas mug as a Christmas gift, complete with homemade hot chocolate powder and a candy cane for stirring it. I should write about that.
That’s a lovely gift. Yes! You should write about that. Are you really willing to reveal your chocolate mix recipe? Some people are very protective of their recipes. LOL.
I’ll include it as well. It isn’t hard to do. In fact, it isn’t hard to make chocolate syrup or homemade chocolate pudding, either. I’ve been making homemade chocolate pudding since I was 8…longer than I’ve been making hot chocolate mix. lol
