The Coromandel peninsula is a place where you must visit on coming to New Zealand. A long time a famous explorer, Captain Cook came to this place to record the transit of Venus. I believe they did some ship repairs on this Bay. A very long time ago.
This place I visited about 4 years ago and stood up from a height overlooking stunning views from Flaxmill Bay.
Wonderful photograph, very nice shot!
Thanks so much Mommy glad you like it
It looks so clean, peaceful and stunning! Gorgeous photograph!
Thanks so much Ellie, Im glad you like it
A stunning beach. I have to come to your country… but need the lottery win! 🙂
Thanks Carol. It’s hard to visit other countries for me as well. New Zealand is isolated but there are a few plus sides to being isolated.
What a romantic name. It suits the location
Thanks so much, it’s a beautiful beach. As a child our family used to come down to Whitianga every holiday season, and its wonderful for fishing, shell fish collecting, playing sand castles and swimming and going for walks.
I’m not much for the beach myself, but yours looks quite nice
Same here Alex but this one looks pretty isolated.
it’s the sun I don’t care for, not the throngs of people
I prefer the beach at night just for that reason.
You won’t find a lot of people at these beaches. Part of the wonderful reality of living in an isolated country. Quite often if you visit these beaches you are the only one there.
Well done! Nice post!
Thanks so much Georgi, glad you like it.
I learned something interesting that Captain Cook was visiting this bay
Thanks Elenka, in those days there weren’t many Europeans and the Maoris he met looked very frightening. However, the Maoris helped the Europeans survive and are very good people.
