These images are from a stop from the Desert Road on the Volcanic Plateau, near Waioru, New Zealand. The Desert Road is a very long road. Quite often in the winter people can get caught in a snow storm in the very same place. This landscape is quite unique and the army personnel often train in Waioru because the conditions are quite harsh.
I have not seen this in snow, but it’s quite spectacular as it is.
