My husband ate what I cooked without a whimper. But I did try my best to churn out good food as I was interested in cooking.
I had eaten sweet and sour pork at a Chinese restaurant and got interested in trying it out myself. I got all the ingredients and took a lot of time over it.
I kept the table ready and was anxiously waiting for my husband to say something. He just ate quietly. I then posed the question how he liked the dish. It is nice he said but please do not make it again.
That was indeed a sweet and sour compliment.

Sweet and sour is one of my favourite meals. I nearly always choose it if it is an option on a menu.
