Hawfinch (Coccothraustes coccothraustes).
Five birds were landed on two adjacent trees. I only managed to shoot 4 of them.
Hawfinch is a beautiful bird!
It is about twice the size of a house sparrow and slightly larger than a starling.
It has a characteristic solid body, large head and beak, short legs and short tail.
It has a massive, disproportionately large, thick and wide beak.
He no difficulty can break cherry and other stone.
Lovely bird we don’t have these in New Zealand
