When the flood comes

We live in a low lying village that is inundated in the rainy season. Fortunately our house is situated in a higher ground that is not reached by the floods. By the way, it is not only our village but also the adjacent villages that are victims of flooding during the rainy season which means we have nowhere else to go.

The town officials have the amphibian boats that can traverse flooded roads to reach the flood victims. There are villages with neck-deep waters that stay for more than 12 hours. As they say, the flood seem to like our town that they come here every year, not once, not twice but sometimes many times. Last year the drainage system was upgraded so we are confident that the rains of 2020 will not cause floods anymore.
