If you read my posts about my daily choices you know that today I planned to write a gratitude list with 100 things for which I am grateful.
It started out a little rough. I got up and looked outside and it was snowing. I am truly tired of snow. Then my thoughts went to my list – I need to be thankful for many things if I am going to make it to 100. I guess that means I need to find new perspectives.
Then the thought came that if I was really grateful for something it would motivate me and I would do something in a grateful manner. Those are the first two shifts I had first thing this morning.
-
I am grateful for the snow. We have been in a terrible drought and people have been praying for water. This snow is an answer to prayer.
-
I am grateful for those who are praying for well being of all.
-
I am grateful for the many people I know who are more selfless than selfish.
-
I am grateful for my neighbors. While we are a small community, we take good care of each other.
-
I am grateful, that against the advice of everyone I know, learned to operate the track hoe. (It is so much better than shoveling people out by hand.)
-
I am grateful that we kept the track hoe.
-
I am grateful that I got to push that snow today.
-
I am grateful it came first circle and I am paying attention now.
-
I am grateful for a comment Carol made today. She mentioned that I have nice neighbors. I really do and I should be truly grateful for that and do more for them. I am blessed.
-
I am grateful that I have the pleasure of taking care of my family. I have become a kinder and more realistic person.
Now can I turn everything I am thankful for into an action that will make others have the opportunity to feel gratitude as well. It’s a warm and comforting feeling and I need to express it more often.
