Your trip to New Zealand is not complete if you have not visited the amazing caves under the green mountains in Waitomo. A boat ride in the black waters with glow worms for company is not something one can experience anywhere else.
We were asked to maintain perfect silence and yes we saw the glow worms glowing in the darkness while we were in the boat in the rugged caves – a slow ride.
Yet another memory created.

Wooow, that’s a stunning picture. This cave looks amazing. I haven’t visited New Zealand yet.
Are you planning to visit in the near future?
I would love to visit this country but it is too long a journey for me.
It is too long for most I guess as it is a faraway country.
Yes, I live in Europe – Slovenia. Our neighboring countries are Austria and Italy.
I live in India but my passion for travel ignores distances (lol)
I would love to travel but I have some health issues.
Now even I cannot travel after I had that accident in 2006
I am sorry for your misfortune. Then you understand that health greatly affects the possibilities of our travels.
Thanks Grace, I saw these a very long time ago and want to go again but my husband hates caves and cant leave him alone too long.
My brother lives near there and told me if I asked the Maoris over the road they would show you caves for free, however,,,something held me back.
My curiosity and passion for travel took me to these caves. It was a great experience. Those days I could put up with the boat that tossed around (lol)
I love boat travel and miss it.. My brother does fishing on the beach and surf casts ..
After my accident years ago I have given up travel.
