In this tropical country where the tin roof is the most common material for roofing, it is customary to have it painted before installing. After 3 years or so, the roof needs to be repainted in order to preserve the galvanized iron sheet.
When there are trees around that the leaves can fly on the roof, the cleaning should be at least once a month. The dried leaves would create dirt that can encourage rust. When the rust grows then a replacement of the sheet is in order. Cleaning the roof and repainting the roof is not an easy job. It is also expensive.

That looks like a hard job to get it repainted. Doesn’t the roof get very hot in the sun?
We are tenants for Housing NZ which look after our roof and property but I would do it if I had to.
We have tiles on our roof.
