THE TURNAGAIN WATERWAY-ALASKA

This waterway is called Turnagain Arm and runs north-west to the Gulf of Alaska. It is one of only two narrow tributaries on the north side of Cook Inlet, the other is called Knik Arm. The Turnagain climate is subject to extreme temperatures and large tide ranges. Turnagain flows in an east-west direction and is about 45 miles (64–72 km) long. It is part of the northern Kenai Peninsula, boundary and reaches eastward to Portage Bay, which is a western branch of Prince William Sound.
