The star on the Christmas tree

It has been our family tradition to have a star on top of the Christmas tree. One Christmas carol has a line that says – hang a shining star upon the highest bough. For me, a star signifies my belief in the Star of Bethlehem that gave guidance to the magi who visited the manger where Christ was born.

In modern times, it pains me to see a teddy bear on top of the Christmas tree. There’s also another stuff toy that is a cartoon character. I wonder what happened to the minds of those people with their Christmas tree. Anyway, the tradition of Christmas is flavored by the tree so I guess it is still okay with any decoration as long as there is a tree.
