The heavy traffic will come back

It is predicted that traffic on the roads will be lesser when the lockdown is lifted. But I beg to disagree. People have to go to their work and when schools are open that means another bulk of people on the roads. The rationale is the lesser capacity of public transport due to social distancing. Only about 30% of the load will be allowed for buses and even trains will carry only 10%. That is clearly a big diminishing factor.

But the number of people traveling is still almost the same that the roads will still be crowded. And probably more crowded than before.

  1. I’m not sure what will the case be in Metro Manila. But I don’t think it will return to the old normal. For one, the schools will no longer have the 5-day a week classes. The schedule will be twice a week face to face classes, then twice a week home study, in alternating days. The Internet is not necessary.
Private schools, however, could have online classes since most of their students can afford an internet subscription and have a computer.
Many parents are opting not to send their children to school this year, fearing that there could be a resurgence of the infections.

Offices will be operating with some employees working at home.
