One sweet potato sprouted in storage. I cut off the top and kept it in water and over a period of time the shoots shot up.
I have planted this piece in the ground and hope to see a healthy creeper. The creeper will have side shoots and the roots of the side shoots will develop into potatoes.
I am hoping the mongoose will not attack it as this pest always goes for tubers. We have had that experience before when we had planted potato shoots.

Good luck with your sweet potatoes. We grew regular potatoes in our garden in Latvia.
