STAGED KILLINGS

I was reading up about some really strange Roman traditions and while they were all fascinating, there were too many to write about here on Virily. I’ve called this one, Staged Killings.

The ancient Roman public loved bloody spectacles not only in gladiatorial battles but also in ordinary theater performances. If during the course of the action the actor was supposed to die, he could at the last moment be replaced by a criminal sentenced to death and killed right on the stage.
