This prickly pear cactus looked like a perfect subject for the wacky Wednesday challenge. This one grows beside a hill and is huge. This part of the cactus alone is 2 feet in circumference. It looked like a monster with seven fingers.
Maybe it is just my imagination, it still did look wacky to me. The plant would have easily been around twenty foot tall. This ginormous cactus, probably a few of them surrounded a side of a hill. They seemed to make the trees near them look insignificant.
I love seeing the prickly pear cactus in bloom, the bright yellow flowers look so pretty. People even eat the fruits of these prickly pears. I am also told that the meat inside cactus is also consumed as food.

You are tempting me to go for cactus now. Cute cactus you have there.
These are too huge to be kept in home gardens but the dwarf ones have tasty fruits too. The fruits look amazing on the plant and birds love it too.
It looks like 8 fingers to me!!?
You are right, there are 8 blooming fingers. 😀
