Selling used clothes

When there is a garage sale, expect used clothing to dominate the items for sale. It has been the fashion here that used clothing are being sold not only in garage sale but also in commercial stores. In our town, there is a big clothing store that sells only used clothes. We call it “ukay-ukay” which means a pile of anything that is now relating to clothes and other personal items like footwear and accessories.

Used clothing is good business that some enterprising people would import used clothes from the US and UK to sell here. It is prohibited but they are able to ship the used clothes that they get from charitable institutions abroad. For the local used clothes, the stores that sell used clothing also buy used clothes. That means used clothes is now an accepted merchandise for selling.
