Saturday's Critters – Cross spider

I do not like spiders but they are interesting in photography, so whenever I have the opportunity, I photograph them.

One of the most popular spiders in my area  is the Cross spider. All spiders of this species have five or more white dots on the back forming a cross-shaped drawing. This spider is a weaver spider and therefore hunts its prey with the help of a web that measures even 40 cm in diameter.

This web has a spherical shape and the spider is in the center, detecting the vibrations of the web with their legs and bristles. If an insect gets caught in the net, the spider packs the prey into silk and then consumes it.
