I am not fond of music and I want to dine in a quiet place especially when we have lots of company. During occasion we sometimes go to the restaurant with relatives and friends to celebrate. Can you imagine the interruption when a band comes to play their tune on us? But it is embarrassing for the band if we refuse.
Maybe such restaurants with live music should inform the diners about the rules. If they do not like the band then they can inform the waiter so they will not be disturbed. At least that would be fair to people who do not like music.

I enjoy live music but after dining in another part of the restaurant where I can listen and dance to the music but not while I am dining.
there is a Costa Rican restaurant near our house that always has live music!
