President Trump Cancels the Party

We are divided in this house on this issue as well. I don’t really know much about White House holiday party for the media. It is described as a significant perk for those covering the White House, as well as other Washington reporters, anchors and commentators, and New York media executives would regularly fly in for the occasion. I have so many questions.

Hey, maybe you know all the answers!

  • Question of

Do these reporters need more perks?

    • Yes
    • No
  • Question of

Does taxpayer money pay for the party?

    • Yes
    • No
  • Question of

    Should the party be cancelled?

    • Yes
    • No

  1. What a wonderful question. Let me start with that. A positive affirmation for your post and questions. Now, as for the cancellation of the press party, I don’t think it is the right thing to do.

Our president continues to break with tradition, but he demands one tradition be upheld (deference to the office of the president in all things). I cannot condone people that apply rules that benefit themselves and then when questioned change other rules.

The negativity that the US White House continues to pour into the world is bad. The press simply grabs ahold of that and runs with it. But our country was founded on free media. One of the huge bones of contention the framers fought against was the limits on information imposed by the English Throne.

    • It would seem to me we are in a tough spot. No one is going to change President Trump, unless he chooses a different temperament. And many of the media ever refuse to ever call him President Trump. He is the president whether people like it or not.

      It’s all ugly.
