I periodically write about forest fires, partly in an attempt to raise awareness of the destruction caused. This got me to thinking that while some people have had personal experiences with forest fires and other wildfires, many others have not.
Today’s poll is in regard to forest fires.
In South Louisiana the major concerns are tornadoes and hurricane and some snow from time to time. Forest fires are scary.
Here in the Rockies, we get winds, but not like those of a hurricane and tornadoes are rare. We do sometimes get several feet of snow inside of a few days, but even that isn’t very common. When thunderstorms are forecast in June through September, though, there is a heightened sense of alert and the forest service puts out patrols afterward to act as fire spotters. If a fire is spotted early enough, they can get to it and put it out while it is still only a few acres in size.
I see you are having the same problem I have had for two days now.
Yeah, they are aware of it. The picture showed up in preview, but not in publish and not when the link is shared.
