Off to bake my signature cake

I call it my signature cake as this is one cake no one else attempts here save me – the date and walnut cake. 

It is mostly at Christmas time that I bake.  I have all the ingredients ready  I even remembered to soak dates in soda bi carb dissolved in warm water  This is important for the dates to spread evenly. 

The house will have the aroma while the cake is being baked and that is what I look forward to with carols singing in the background. 

Keeping my fingers crossed. – there’s many slip between………..
