Many of us admired the color of the sun at sunset and sunrise. If we were in space, we would see the white sun, because the light sent by the Sun is made up by a huge range of colors with a gradual transition from one to the other. The visible spectrum occupies a small part of them. When all these colors are in almost equal quantities, as is the case with sunlight, the human eye perceives the color white. When separated from each other, the components of different frequencies of visible light give rise to different colors. Therefore, in the early hours of the morning and shortly before dusk, the sun changes its color to orange and reddish hues. This is because the light travels a greater distance through the atmosphere, and as the sun approaches the horizon, we will only see the colors with the largest wavelength yellow, orange and red.
