Loose chickens in the yard

In our culture, the loose chicken is traditional not for a pet but for a source of food. In the rural areas, the loose chicken would multiply to give eggs and meat that would augment the dietary needs of the family. Having loose chicken in the yard is very common here although in the urban areas, loose chicken are vanishing.

City and town ordinances are changing the landscape of the culture. Gone are the backyard piggeries where families can keep 2 piglets, taking care for 5 months and selling at a profit. There’s also the ducks and quails that give additional income. Maybe those livestock would remain but only in the rural areas since they are not welcome anymore in the towns and cities near the metro.
