The grandkids are city boys. They have however figured out that horses really do like carrots. When they first started wondering over to the horse barn they kept quite a distance. Even if they were going to give them carrots they would stand way back and throw them over the fence. But, they saw a problem. For some reasons the horses picked on the paint. The boys call him Oreo. When they tossed in the carrots Oreo never got one. That made them sad.
Grandpa finally told them they needed to man up and learn how to feed the horses carrots. He then promptly went back in the house and that left me.
It took a whole summer before they could spread out and feed the horses their carrots with confidence. Grandpa was pleased to see them do it.
