I had sown many seeds of Tithonia and have now transplanted seedlings all over the garden. A couple of them have already bloomed.
Tithonias I notice seem to like the conditions in our garden and they have always shown up when the season was right They give out many flowers and the plants are pretty tall.
I plant them in soil that is mixed with compost that we prepare This compost is from kitchen and garden waste We do not buy artificial fertilizers We have several compost pits and in a year the compost is ready for use.

This is so beautiful against the green leaves. I have heard the name, but I haven’t seen them here.
This time I have many plants all over and waiting for all of them to bloom.
Not sure whether flowers like this are in NZ or not.. but very pretty flower.
One thing I sure know and that is bottle brush is surely growing where you live. I have seen many of those trees and I have one in my garden (lol)

It needs the morningsun and remains on the plant for atleast a week.
