For tropical countries, the cold weather is not the season of local fruits which usually appear during the summer months. What is usually available in the market is the pineapple and mangoes but the price is quite steep because of the short supply. People buy anyway so the vendors are happy.
Most of the fruits in the market are the imported like lanzones from Thailand, apples from the US, China, Korea and Japan, grapes from the US and other producers, plum, persimmon, and sometimes there is fresh cherries too. It is the season of imported fruits so we are used to buying apples and pears for the Christmas atmosphere.

Of course, we buy. We grow not many local fruits, so we love imported ones.
