Entrance to Two North Riverside Plaza from the Madison St Bridge (2010-02-17 12-54-20b)
2 North Riverside Plaza is located on the west side of the Chicago River just north of Madison Street in the Loop neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.
The 26 story art deco building was designed by Holabird & Roche/Holabird & Root and was completed in 1929. It was originally known as the Chicago Daily News Building until that newspaper went out of business in 1978.
The photo was taken using a Panasonic DMC-FZ50. I then used Luminar 2018 to rotate the image slightly and apply the ‘Film Noir’ preset.

I am a fan of variety. I love to see different kinds of things.
The first year was the date I took the photo, the second was when I did the edit. I only due that for major edits. If I’m just cleaning up a photo, I just use the date it was taken.
Beautifully photographed. Love these old buildings.
Thanks. I worked in this building one summer when I was in college. It was pretty nice on the inside also.
I can imagine the inside.
I worked in the building one summer when I was in college. It was similar to most of the office buildings built shortly before the Great Depression. Very ornate.
This is an example of old-world charm at its best. I am familiar with Art Deco buildings as there are some in Chennai.
There are a lot of buildings like this in the USA. I like to think of them as America’s version of the castle.
Yes Gary. The entrance gives it such character. Very cool.
I really enjoy seeing the building that Chicago has to offer through your work.
Chicago is a great city for architecture. The skyscraper was invented here. It was the only benefit of having to rebuild after almost the entire city was burned to the ground.
Thank you for sharing the uniqueness of Chicago in terms of architecture.
