I am white British and from England and voted to leave the European Union in June 2016. In fact 52% of the United Kingdom voted to leave the United Kingdom. 9 out of 10 of the English regions voted to leave, alongside Wales, whilst Scotland and N.Ireland voted tactically to Remain as they draw a much larger EU subsidy. Scotland, rather ironically, voted to stay in the U.K during the Scottish referendum? Older people voted to leave and the uneducated voted to leave whilst social liberals were the only group to vote on mass to stay in the E.U.
The 50% threshold on the vote was a mistake as just one person could have decided the vote, and they may have had dementia, a student voting twice or even an illegal immigrant. 55% threshold to achieve Brexit would have been far more sensible as in that way the country would be behind the result more. They are not behind the vote right now and the Remain voters want a second vote. Democracy only gets ratified when smug liberals say so, it seems.
I voted Leave to cut uncontrolled immigration that has pushed down pay and conditions for many workers here, local and foreign. If you have a contiguous flow of labor bosses can pay low wages and fire people as always someone else coming along. I also voted Leave so the center right wing government who called for the vote would fall. The Prime minister did resign soon after. I also voted Leave to bring down house prices and rents. The less people coming the less demand for housing and so rents would fall and more houses on the markets as the landlords cant rent them anymore. It seems to be happening now.
So if you live in the E.U. how would you vote?

I really liked the “theory” of a European Union. But it looks like it was not so easy to implement.
