Many thought that going to the horse races was a horrible idea. There was certainly a risk of going because of the virus. However, the heroes that did all the hard work, talked to the officials, trained everyone how to be safe and what precautions to take, did a spectacular job. We were as safe as we could be and accepted the risk with complete knowledge.
I thought to take the temperature, have masks, social distancing everywhere and people who were HAPPY to follow the rules made a huge difference. It was clean. They made great adjustments for food items. I know they had to fight for and there is a limited number of people that can even get in. You would think that I would volunteer to stay home so some others might get to go. I am not sure I am going to be that kind. I have been going two hours early to make sure I get my favorite seat and that I get in in case too many show up.

my dad always said be alert. The world needs more Lerts!
We have to be careful. We have to focus on doing the right things to make sure we contain this disease.
I watch the videos of the 4th of July parties and the rise in young people getting infected and it actually made me cry. I had to turn off the news.
First of all, what does a lert look like? (Yup, I really want to know.) I agree we have to be careful and do what we can. I have to start living again. The depression, stress and stroke were taking me to the very edge. We were very careful.
glad to hear you were careful…
And what does a lert look like? You forgot to draw me a picture.
well the world needs a lot of them.
so be a lert!!!
i don’t know what one looks like just that my dad always said that. 🙂
Stay safe out there. Heroes come in many shapes and sizes, like angels. 🙂
Oh wow, you made me cry happy tears, again. You are really important in our lives here. I hope you know that.
